How To Unlock Espn On Freeview

Charles Vidor - Gilda

Johnny (Glenn Ford ), a petty con man, is saved from certain death by Ballin Mundson ( George Macready), director of an illegal casino in Buenos Aires. The two men become friends and Johnny goes to work for Ballin. This friendship is affected by Ballin wedding with former lover Johnny, Gilda ( Rita Hayworth ).

Gilda is a classic but not one of the greats. In a film that is good without reaching the height of "Eve" or "A Streetcar Named Desire." Yet there are an absurd amount of references to it, so I very much recommend that you dedicate the time and forty that lasts. Gilda

a story of lies, jealousy, shady deals and scams.
George Macready and Rita Hayworth excel in their roles. Perfectly convey his jealousy, confusion, ambitions ... are convincing at all levels. Glenn Ford I liked it too. Makes "tough guy" as his running mate, but gives much less expressiveness and depth of character.
There are four main characters are all great. In fact, I think the highlight of the script is the character design:
  • Jonnhy: a small-time crook who develops a loyalty bordering on devotion to his boss. A devotion that has to be measured with the passion it arouses Gilda.
  • Ballin: a controller cold and calculating, surrounded by strange and dangerous business. Obsessed with world domination and Gilda. Yes, world domination, you read that right.
  • Gilda: Gilda is not the most honored woman in the world but neither is the fox that wants to convince Johnny.
  • The casino worker, cynical and ironic. Johnny specialized in insulting. It's a comic relief that gives a bit of excitement among both drama.
The other strong point is the dialogue script. It made me laugh several times and developed very well made. It is very predictable but it has some interesting points like: Ballin feigning death.

The music is based mainly in Argentina and dance performances and Gilda, then I leave. Beware of spoiler for the videos! My dear
:

Put the Blame on Mame (yes, this is the famous slap):

not usually highlighting the costumes in films that are set in their own time but in this film if you will. It's fantastic. Perfectly follows the evolution of the characters and helped position it in different places and events.
The sets are well chosen and highlight, among other things, the megalomania of Ballin. The odd game of blind and speakers office, pictures of himself ... very consistent with his obsession to seize the planet.
Two weak points are the lighting and makeup. The lighting is too strong on Gilda and very faint in all other respects. I understand the intent here was to highlight to the actress but it was not necessary and gives a strange look into the faces of other actors.
makeup Glenn Ford in his eyes dark, enhancing the effect of light and highlight your lips made up of a light tone. As I imagine it does not look very flattering.
While dubbing meets and can see it well without any problem, you will enjoy the original version the voice of Rita Hayworth, who hits a lot more character.

Note: 7. Is good and has to be seen, but do not expect a classic 10. It is not.

PS: I had to say, Rita Hayworth is amazing in this film. Beauty and sensuality in a pure state. Curves Live!
