Mac Studio Fix Swatches

Alfred Hitchcock - Marnie, the thief

Marnie (Tippi Hedren ) is a woman who lives to steal, a kleptomaniac who can not suppress their impulses. Always follow the same modus operandi : it presents a secretary, get the job you are given without showing references and after a time, steals the company and disappears. He uses lies, false identities ... whatever it takes in order to conform with its purpose.
But everything changes when he crosses paths Mark Rutland ( SeanConnery ). Knowing the problem of Marnie, the contract to study and learn what drives him to steal.

The script is fantastic. In fact at the time broke the mold to speak openly of frigidity in women. Without being sleazy to the topic, do not save anything. The scenes are well-spun and the end is surprising. You know that something has happened, continually ask yourself why, you thousands of conjectures, and finally give you an answer that is not what you expected,

The characters are complex and well developed:
Mark: obsessed with Marnie, affectionate with his family, but distanced the rest of humanity, with a hint of contempt for them. Marnie
: thief, liar, frigid ... full of problems and mixed feelings. A woman who feels more comfortable with horses than with people.
Lil (Diane Baker ): sister of the first wife of Mark. Love with him and willing to do anything for it.

The performances are superb. The first time I saw Sean Connery I did not like. With a few more views I have to say above was wrong. I may not have the day or I lose some nuance, but this man deserves my applause for her performance. Tippi Hedren, despite all the rumors about Hitchcock's displeasure toward her, is impressive. Marnie is not an easy character and she embroiders. However, my favorite is Diane Baker. Get an air give her character lovable despite tripping to Marnie. Lovely.

care Hitchcock music soon in his works. But this movie has a great soundtrack to . Bernard Herrmann was brilliant especially. I suggest that you go through the biography of this great composer.

The lighting and costumes met. The make fails with Sean Connery. I spent half the film wondering what happened to her eyebrows and lips. I do not know what they have done, but it is not good.

One of the few problems the film is that it has parts that have not aged well. Some of the images shot on horseback or in cars become obsolete. That if, at the time had to be incredible but today have become very outdated.

The address is ... is Hitchcock, no doubt. A director at the head of one of his best films. A lesson in cinema.
During the play are interspersed two types of plans: a very short scenes focusing on everyday and keep the keys in a bag, take some flowers or a card to change the portfolio, others start from the roof, removing the viewer the center stage, and down to get a closeup of the actor who is in the room.
With this technique gained the enmity of critics for doing a very experimental film ahead of its time. Moreover, in countries like England was rated X by the issues concerned.

take this to mean that to make experimental films do not need to create a film over two hours ill done and that nobody understands. Examples of experimental film directors who were in his day, Hitchcock, Coppola, Alan Parker, Scorsese and Guy Ritchie. Does anyone not understand his films? That's it. Less gafapastismo and more good movies, thanks.

Curiosities:
-Diane Baker has always said that this was his movie and his favorite role.
"In his biography, has denied that Hitchcock Tippi not address him during filming.
-Hitchcock used a mechanical horse in the scenes with more risk to the animal.
-A Diane Baker would not let him read the script, she agreed to do before.

Note: 9. It's fantastic. A classic one of the best.
